Staff at TT2 this month have been raising funds for Movember. The charity was founded in 2003 and host the annual Movember event worldwide to get people involved to grow a moustache during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
Did you know men are dying on average 4.5 years earlier than women, for largely preventative reasons? Movember comes into play to address this global scale health crisis. They fund projects all over the world that engage men to understand what works best and accelerate change.
As part of the fundraising, we had 2 employees volunteer to have their beards shaved, and a 3rd employee who volunteered to have their hairstyle drastically changed – all in effort to support and raise funds for Movember and other amazing charities.
TT2 are donating to the 3 staff member’s choices, £1000 to Movember, £1000 to West End Refugee Services and £1500 to People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA).
West End Refugee Services (WERS) is a charity that aims to achieve positive change for asylum seekers and refugees. The charity offers support services by creating opportunities for people to thrive in their local community through engagement. Their services are split into groups such as offering information/ advice which include face-to-face, appointments and support by phone. They offer a hardship fund to provide financial support for asylum seekers and provide awareness-raising sessions for community groups, schools and more.
People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) was founded in 1917 to provide care for sick and injured animals. The charity has 48 pet hospitals but the work they do goes much further by educational work with communities and schools, working with private vet practices.
