From 8PM on Thursday 30th May until 6AM on Monday 3rd June 2024, there will be a series of overnight lane closures Northbound and Southbound.
This is to allow for essential road resurfacing works to take place. These works have been scheduled to take place overnight to minimise disruption to traffic.
Summary of works:
Thursday 30th May 8PM – Friday 31st May 6AM
The A19 Southbound approach road will be closed with traffic diverted up to the Southbound Howdon off-slip road and returned to the A19 via the Southbound Howdon on-slip road.
Friday 31st May 8PM – Saturday 1st June 6AM
The Northbound Jarrow off-slip and on-slip road will be closed with diversions in place via Lindisfarne roundabout.
Saturday 1st June 5PM – Sunday 2nd June 6AM
The A19 Northbound approach to the Northbound tunnel will be closed with Northbound traffic diverted through the Northbound inspection area.

Sunday 2nd June 5PM – Monday 3rd June 6AM
