On the 19th August staff at TT2 put together a bake sale, raffle and tombola for the charity ‘Breast Cancer Now’ and successfully raised an amazing £708! The collective effort to make this a success has been huge and it is all for an amazing cause that has affected so many of us.
We had many raffle prizes including vouchers from staff that have their own small businesses, boob themed gifts, day trips out provided by Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle and much more!
We also had massive amounts of generosity when it came to baking and bringing in items for our bake sale, with a mixture of homemade and bought treats we managed to completely fill our table in the canteen! Did you know almost half (47%) of women in the UK do not check their breasts regularly for the potential signs of breast cancer. By hosting these fundraisers we are not only funding vital research and services but are also raising awareness, educating and opening up those conversations that might not naturally come up in the workplace.
