TT2 staff are offsetting 140 tonnes of CO2e (CO2 equivalent) to the rice hisk based cogeneration plant at Hanuman Agro Indistries Limited in India.
What does Carbon Offsetting mean?
It means reducing or removing emissions and greenhouse gases through an activity e.g., tree planting/reforestation.
This project is using rice husk as fuel to generate electricity, rather than using resources like coal. It is a renewable energy power project, which collects & utilizes waste biomass generated in the local region as a fuel for power generation and export clean power to the grid.
The Project activity is contributing to a small increase in the local employment by employing skilled and unskilled personnel for operation and maintenance of the equipment.
