This is a reminder that bank holiday Monday will see an extension of the Northbound tunnel closure. A bi-directional operation will be in place from 9PM Friday until 6AM Tuesday. See specific dates below for upcoming bank holidays.
Friday, 18th April (9 PM) to Tuesday, 22nd April (6 AM)
Friday, 2nd May (9 PM) to Tuesday, 6th May (6 AM)
Friday, 23rd May (9 PM) to Tuesday, 27th May (6 AM)
The Southbound tunnel will operate in a bi-directional layout, with one lane heading north and one heading south.
Weekend closures are in place until Summer 2025, whilst maintenance is carried out to ensure the longevity of the tunnels for generations to come. When a Monday bank holiday takes place, weekend closures are extended until 6AM Tuesday, to allow for additional essential maintenance works whilst traffic volumes are lower.
