On 8th October 2021 we took part in #HelloYellow and got dressed in yellow to raise some money for Young Minds. This was a fun opportunity for staff to get creative as we took a healthy body = healthy mind approach. Staff brought in bakes which were healthier alternatives to the usual cake and dug out their yellow t-shirts to show support.
We also shared helpful resources to staff throughout the week, if you aren’t familiar with what Young Minds do, below is an explanation from their website on how they use funds raised.
‘In the UK today, an estimated five children in every classroom has a mental health problem. A quarter of 17 year-old girls have self-harmed in the last year while suicide remains the single biggest killer of boys and young men. But things can get better.
We provide young people with tools to look after their mental health. We empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And we give young people the space and confidence to get their voices heard and change the world we live in.’ – Young Minds
